Built by convicts in 1825, and restored in 2005, it was judged the best Tasmanian restoration and best Australian restoration 2005, 2006. The Woodbridge is a seamless blend of 200 years of this history with modern amenities and comfort. It operated as a Small Luxury Hotel 2007-19. But as guest preferences altered, it morphed to a Rooms Only concept catering to today's independent traveller with self-catering kitchenette and dining room. The Woodbridge is within easy walking distance of the acclaimed The Agrarian Kitchen, and the delightful old Bush Inn, 1815 is a stone's throw walk along the river. The Shed at Derwent Estate and The Source at MONA are just 10-20 minutes drive. Relax by the river or enjoy the delightful walks along the adjacent riverside parklands. And for those wanting more of the great outdoors, explore some serious wilderness walking nearby. Elegantly comfortable room have Wi-Fi, heating/fans/air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. All rooms have river views. The Woodbridge is in the heart of the picturesque Derwent Valley. It is 30 minutes to Hobart, 45 minutes to the airport, 15 minutes to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, historic Salmon Ponds and a short drive to Mt Field National Park.
