World Heritage Cruises are a local family-owned business who have been taking passengers to Macquarie Harbour and The Gordon River for over 125 years. This cruise is a unique way to explore UNESCO World Heritage Wilderness at its best. The spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable catamaran allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. The Morning Heritage Cruise departs Strahan for Hells Gates, the narrow entrance to Macquarie Harbour. Step onshore Sarah Island, where guides tell you stories that make up the rich history of the ex-penal settlement. Cruise the spectacular Gordon River and enjoy a boardwalk through the cool-temperate rainforest at Heritage Landing. See a demonstration of an old Huon Pine sawmill. The engaging commentary and videos about the area's history, ecology, and geology are enriched with anecdotes from the Grining family's vast experiences of cruising this famous river. Lunch features fresh Tasmanian produce, and enjoyed whilst gliding along the Gordon River. Window or Centre seating is allocated. Main Deck includes lunch, and the Upper Deck includes lunch a beverage and morning tea. Passengers have access to the entire vessel, including outdoor decks with additional seating. Morning Heritage Cruise departs 0900 and returns 1500 daily.
